The Set Stealth Cranks Rough Polish

CRCS-Set-Stealth-rough-pol-1000

The Set just hit us up with a sneak peek at a new finish they will be releasing their Stealth  2.5 piece Cranks in. They are calling it Rough Polish, which is certainly a more original option over the standard black or chrome  The Stealth Cranks also come in Black and Clear Raw in a choice of 180, 175, 170 and even 165mm arm lengths, so if your looking to upgrade to longer or shorter than usual Cranks like many riders are doing at the moment, these could be worth checking out. For those of you who are obviously questioning the drilled holes in the arms, Marc from The Set assured me that despite the holes, the Cranks are in fact bombproof;

“These crank arms kick any cranks ass out there and are crazy strong! For anyone concerned with holes, don’t be ! If anyone ever cracks a pair from the holes we will give you a free parts package & a new set of cranks! “

  • 2.5 Design
  • Weight – 0.930kg
  • Heat Treated Rectubular Chromoly Crank Arms
  • Wraparound Pedal Gusset
  • 19mm 48 Spline Hollow Chromoly Spindle
  • LHD & RHD Compatible

Sneak Peek: The Set Sprocket Guard

Guard sprocket front

Neil from The Set hit us up with an exclusive first look at their new Sprocket with integrated Guard. Before you ask, no the guard isn’t plastic, they have 3D Printed the design onto Plastic to check dimensions and compatibility first which is a pretty neat concept.

“Here’s a couple of pics of the new sprocket guard we’ve been working on. We’ve had this on the go for a while now and were trying to keep this under wraps, but it seems like everyone else has started putting out guard sprockets now anyway. It’s still a while off production but hopefully not too long. We’ve got more new stuff in testing at the moment too so keep your eyes pealed!”

Pretty rad to see Sprocket Guards coming back recently, and with the more people riding four pegs and new grind variations being invented daily its a no brainer to run one.

20Twenty Store in Aberdeen has just received a shipment of stock from The Set so is you are after some of their gear outside of Australia be sure to hit them up!

The Set Seats and Hubs

Fat_pivotal-group

Aussie brand The Set just dropped a sneak peek at two new products they have coming out for 2013. First up is their fat Pivotal Seats, available in a kevlar version with coloured stitching, and a microfiber suede version for the stealth look. These seats will be available worldwide in the next few weeks.

Next up is their new Terrorist Cassette Hub. No more info on this as of yet but it looks like it uses a 14mm female cromoly axle with 10mm female bolts for use with a 17mm socket. Always stoked to see new stuff from these guys, expect more later this year!
